Week 2: Sneak in Line for the Show
This week's song is called Sneak in Line for the Show, featuring Tim Bulkley on the drums. We recorded this way back in 2008. It's another song that was written using the beloved Casio SK-1, our favorite little sampling keyboard from the 1980s. We keep breaking and re-buying them. I think Sadie had three in her possession just recently. Anyway, here you go.
lyrics
grass is high
hills are wide
we will drive down to LA
yay yay
i watch you aim i watch your arms
i watch them drop, it's half the charm
if you want me it's alright
if you want to stay the night
it won't keep you where you wanna be
no perfections
that can keep you where you wanna be
no good intentions
that can keep you where you wanna be
come sneak in line for the show
i watch the dance floor spin you round
touch and go you with the sound
if you want me it's alright
if you wanna stay the night
it won't keep me where i wanna be
your affections
won't keep me where i wanna be
no good intentions
are gonna keep me where i wanna be
come sneak in line for the show

The wonderful shape of things! This attacks my senses in all the good ways: Catchy melody - Check! Surprising still - Check! No simple straightforward 4 beat - Check! A music that growls and weeps - Check! Ahhh.... this is so guuuuuud! Kristinn Kristinsson
Boston post-punk outfit Junk Ranchers broke up in 1986 before this, their debut album, was released; darkly melodic, it's a long-lost gem. Bandcamp New & Notable Dec 22, 2020
